The Winnipeg Wasps held their annual Snow 7’s tournament at Maple Grove Park on Saturday, Feb. 15. The tournament attracted local clubs, and also American teams like the Red River Ruffians who came up from Fargo-Moorhead. While it was sunny outside, wind chills hit up to 30 km/h, reaching -21 throughout the day.

The Wasps use this tournament as one of many ways to stay in shape during their off-season. They play from May–September, meaning off-season training is key. As a result, the Wasps train at least once a week at Acceleration Performance with CFL long snapper Mike Benson.
