Indigenous Inclusion at Festival du Voyageur

Nikki Komaksiutiksak, 36, has performed Inuit throat singing at many notable venues, but she was especially thrilled to be invited back to Festival du Voyageur. She believes the festival’s taking the correct approach for reconciliation by showcase Indigenous culture through its programming.

This year’s edition of the festival was the first since the organization announced that it would make a commitment to reconciliation. One of the ways the festival is doing this is by including more Indigenous performers and programs at the festival.
